Beth and Justin began planning their wedding almost two years ago, long before COVID turned the world upside down. After all of that planning, just as with so many other couples, they were required to strip their wedding down to the essentials. For them, the essentials were a Catholic ceremony, immediate family and closest friends in attendance, and a live stream of their ceremony for those that couldn’t be there.
With these things, and in spite of the obstacles, Beth and Justin still radiated happiness all evening. Their friends surprised them with little details like printed cut outs of absent loved ones, and their family surprised them with a car parade through the church parking lot.
Nothing about planning a wedding during COVID is ideal, but the intimate celebration that remains can still be joy-filled and momentous. Beth and Justin’s wedding was all of those things (and I cannot wait to do it again next year on a grander scale!)
