We rescheduled Hayley + Richard’s original engagement session because the forecast showed a wintery day and we envisioned extra vibrant images for their engagement. I’m so happy that we didn’t settle for the clouds and waited instead for the sun. Once it came out, it was the most perfect winter light—crisp sunshine with the tiniest bit of clouds to diffuse the shadows. We shot first at the Crocker and then at the top of K Street Garage with views of the Capitol and the Crest. Sacramento staples, a saturated blue sky, and the sweetest connection between H + R made for a perfect session.
