Before Juliana and James’ ceremony started, I took my place and watched as guests arrived, signed the guest book, and found their seats. That’s when James’ grandfather came up to me, looking around with awe, and said “This is the happiest day of my life.” We talked about how beautiful it all was and he decided that “this wedding should be televised”. I clarified, asking if he meant recorded by a videographer, and he said “No, on television. The world should see this!” And then he took his seat in the front row and I swear there were actual hearts in his eyes for the rest of the night.
Happiness spilled out of this wedding; from a tearful first look with Juliana’s bridesmaids, to old high school friends reuniting, to a handwritten letter read aloud by the maid of honor, and the first dance song sung by one of James’ groomsmen. Every element of their day was heartfelt and symbolic and drenched in the most perfect light – a wedding photographer’s dream.
