If you keep up with my blog, you probably saw Chalayne and Nate’s cliffside engagement session. Remember the beautiful couple and the red dress and all the wind? Well, last weekend I got to photograph their wedding and it was every bit as beautiful as their engagement. With her degree in interior design, Chalayne styled their wedding as if it came straight from a magazine. Bright and minimal with occasional pops of green and gold; olive branches, air plants, and portraits in an open field.
There was an abundance of tears and simultaneous laughter. Their friends DJ’d and video’d, her dad officiated, the girls got ready at her parents’ home and the wedding itself was hosted at her aunt and uncle’s home next door. The day was as intimate as they come.
Towards the end of the night, Chalayne surprised Nate with her custom leather jacket embroidered with “Mrs. Haley” and for the first time ever, my coverage timeline ended with a first look. It was an incredibly unique day and – I say this every time but it’s always, always true – I was honored to document it.
Congrats again, Nate + Chalayne. See you soon for drinks and non-wedding conversations!
